Robert E. Lee Plans New Attack at Seminary Ridge

The Battle of Gettysburg looked to be at a standstill until three o’clock this morning. General Robert E. Lee was spotted riding down along the Union flank of Cemetery Ridge.

The lower end of the ridge to the south seemed to be lacking a number of Union soldiers. It seems that Lee has decided to take advantage of this, after yesterday’s traumatizing events and loss of ground for the Confederates.

It is believed Lee’s plan is to extend his right flank down Seminary Ridge, far enough where they are lined up past Union troops. Lee will look to attack northeast of Emmitsburg Road running diagonally to the value. He intends to catch the Union troops off guard.

General Lee was overheard explaining the plan to his commander, General McLaws, when he arrived to the scene at eight o’clock this morning. Lee told McLaws, “I wish you to place your division across this road.” General Lee intends to keep the attack hidden, reminding McLaws shortly after, “I wish you to get there if possible without seeing the enemy.” Nerves struck Confederate commander General Longstreet when McLaws agreed.

Longstreet and Lee have been arguing over the placement of each division ever since. Meanwhile, McLaws returned to his troops and is waiting in nerves of how this disagreement will play out on the battlefield. The continuation of Gettysburg is just a shot away, and Lee looks to take the reins.
